ALLEGRO
JUNE 2026

Allegro is an animation short film directed by Lylou Temporelli from ESRA Côte d'Azur, France.

One evening in Brooklyn, Abigail, a young, exhausted waitress, finishes wiping down the tables on an empty rooftop where a jazz concert has just taken place. On stage, a focused pianist plays his final notes and leaves the rooftop, leaving Abigail alone without paying her any attention.

The waitress, who had noticed a saxophone sitting on the stage, seizes the opportunity to play it. Suddenly, she is taken by surprise by a familiar melody that seems to be challenging her to a duel.

I worked closely with Karel Galland and Lilian Grégoire, the two composers of Allegro, as a copyist and I also provided artistic direction support during the recording sessions. The music in this film has been improvised live by Karel and Lilian, so the challenge was to properly write down and notate the music so that it would sound as close as it is supposed to when played live.

The film is currently part of ARTE's animation short contest, you can vote for Allegro through this link: https://concoursanimation.arte.tv/film/allegro/
